Legal Questions : Can You Refuse to Sign Divorce Papers?
You just received a knock on the door and it was a sheriff or process server that serve you with divorce papers and you now seating on your couch in your living room reading this and you don’t really understand it and you don’t know weather you have to sign this or what the next step is. Well, of course you can refuse to sign anything but it may not accomplish what you think is going to be accomplish. You can’t avoid the inevitable if you being sued for divorce and it really doesn’t matter which states this is, you can’t avoid the inevitable, you may be able to slow down the process but you can’t stop it. So what the first thing you want to do is to read the papers you’ve been serve with and under all circumstances you want to file some type of response even if it is something to the extend that you object and you don’t agree.
